This series of layered collages explores the complexities of cultural identity. The works are composed of posters purchased in the market of Cusco, Peru, in 2004. The collages combine cut patterns inspired by Pre-Columbian, Andean, and Buddhist symbols, textiles, and drawings, interwoven with images of Peruvian Presidents, Inca Kings, ancient temple sites, Spiderman, Winnie the Pooh, Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Albert Einstein, and Marilyn Monroe. These layers of visual references reflect the diverse and dynamic intersections of culture, history, and popular media.
