WATER SERIES
Zackin’s work understands water as a living being, an entity with presence and agency, not merely a resource. A spiritual force that sustains all life, water calls for a reciprocal relationship of care, like that we extend to family. Living along the Sawkill Creek, a tributary of the Hudson River, where water quality has long been contested, she foregrounds both the ecological urgency and the sacred significance of this essential being.
